After the first ever update of post-season testing carried out on Tuesday, the young talents of Formula 3 returned to the track today at Jerez de la Frontera for the second day of testing. Four rounds in total between yesterday and today and four different drivers who set the best time. This morning it was the Bulgarian Nikola Tsolov to achieve my best performance, with the all-Italian satisfaction of Nicola Lacorte at the end of the day.
Morning: Campos derby
With a lot of activity on the track from the first minutes after the green light came on, Tsolov immediately proved to be one of the fastest on the track, even following the red flag shown 40 minutes from the end due to a small mistake by debutant Brando Badoer . Once the car was recovered, the driver of the Campos he engaged in a timing duel with his teammate Mari Boyafinishing as the winner in 1:29.758 (first driver of the morning to go under 1:30) with a total of 42 laps completed.
Afternoon: Lacorte takes advantage of the ideal moment
Definitely shorter afternoon session, also thanks to the rain crashed in Jerez shortly after the green flag. Before the track conditions made it necessary to use wet tyres, with the test interrupted on two occasions due to the display of the red flag, Nicola Lacorte took the opportunity to close the best performance in 1:31.584 with his Jenzer. An unattainable time also due to the intensity of the rain, with some riders still taking to the track in the following minutes to test the rain tyres. The only Italian on the track today together with Badoer, the 17-year-old from Pisa participated in the latest Formula Regional Oceania and European championships, and has been a member of the Alpine Academy since last December.
