“Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, a series created by Ryan Murphy, conquered Netflix despite the fact that it did not have a great marketing campaign like other blockbusters. Not only did it break audience records, but it has also positioned itself as the most viewed on the platform.
Throughout its 10 episodes, we learned about the life of the ‘Milwaukee cannibal’, his shady crimes, the drama of his victims and the system failures that allowed his bloody carnage. However, the program has not been freed from controversy.
The relatives of the victims criticized that the series took advantage of the misfortune of others, the LGTBIQ + community asserted that they did not feel well represented and several fans romanticized the serial killer on different social networks.
To this was added a new viral challenge on TikTok called ‘Polaroid challenge’ that has caused the total rejection of many netizens. This consists of looking for the real photographs that Dahmer took of his victims and reacting to them.
As it is remembered, the psychopath had the habit of taking pictures of the bodies of his victims, since he enjoyed preserving their memory and was pleased with the memory of having subdued them. These were found by the Police at the time of his capture and ended up leaking on the internet.
