Culiacan, Sin. – A pleasant evening outdoors, with jazz and metal music, offered by musicians from the Sinaloa Symphony Orchestra of the Arts this Thursday night at the Rosario Castellanos Agora of the Sinaloense Institute of Culture, in the seventh program of the Chamber Music Series “OSSLA for Everyone”.
The concert of the OSSLAwhich immediately followed the opening of the exhibition “Re Creaciones: Artistas Visuales Sinaloenses”, in the neighboring Sala de Arte Moderno, was an excellent complement to that festival of women in art from Sinaloa and gave life and movement around to the arts at the Genaro Estrada Cultural Center.
In the first term, the Culiacán Brass Quintet brass ensemble was presented, made up of Mauro Kuxy and Roberto Alanís on trumpets; Brayan Hernández on the horn; José León on trombone and Jorge Cabrera on tuba, who immediately attracted attention when performing the pieces “An American in Paris”, by George Gershwin; “Ragtime”, by Enrique Crespo; “Blues for brass”, by R. Roblee, and as a pilón, “Colombia, Tierra Querida”, an arrangement for brass of the theme by Colombian musician Lucho Bermúdez, very handsome and noisy.
Secondly, the Eddy Lang Ensemble was presented, made up of teachers Jesús Miguel Portillo (clarinet), Edmundo Langner (percussion) Óscar Manuel Corral (double bass) and, as guests, Raúl Carrasco (guitar) and Roberto Morales (drums).
