Monterrey lives its lowest hours in recent tournaments. Despite being the team with the most valuable squad in Liga MX, Rayados has been left to duty both in the Grita México 2021 tournament, the 2022 Club World Cup and the start of the Clausura 2022. The fans and a sector of the media communication have pointed to Javier Aguirre as one of those most responsible for the poor recent results of the albiazules.
In recent weeks there have been some protests against the players, coaching staff and directors of Rayados. Faced with pressure from Monterrey fans, some members of the club, such as Rogelio Funes Mori, have come out to give their version of events and show their commitment to the club. ‘Vasco’ Aguirre also came out to offer some statements regarding the Monterrey crisis.
The coach justified Rayados’ misstep and assured that he has no control over the bad streaks that teams can experience and that throughout his career as a coach this has happened to him more than once.
“I control what is inside the Barrial. That is what concerns me, the players, how they are, how we train, how we resolve situations that may arise. That is what I dedicated myself to, the rest is not It is something that I can control absolutely (…) The other (the discontent of the fans) is not in my hands. They do not pay me for it, they pay me to be a coach and I will continue like this until the body endures. what concerns me here I am, that the team walk, work, win titles and that is what we coaches dedicate ourselves to, the other there will be people who dedicate themselves to other things I do not dedicate myself to that “
