Nintendo Switch dominates the Japanese rankingboth the hardware and software ones, with the latter seeing the return of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in first place, followed by Princess Peach: Showtime! and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

In fact, they range from the aforementioned Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (5.8 million copies sold in Japan alone) to Animal Crossing: New Horizon (7.7 million), from Splatoon 3 (4.3 million) to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (5.5 million).

The hardware ranking

The hardware ranking obviously reiterates Nintendo's dominance, with Switch OLED having exceeded 7 million units in Japan alone and continues to crunch important numbers week to week, with the Lite and standard models in third and fourth place respectively.
