Very short standings in Friday’s Japanese Grand Prix Practice, which started with the best time of Filip Salac. The Czech driver, protagonist of a difficult season so far, concluded in 1:49.716signing the new Motegi track record (as happened in Moto3) and an advantage of just 46 thousandths over the winner of the last Indonesian GP, Aron Canet, and 95 over Marcos Ramirez.
As many as twenty riders are within a gap of one second, and among these appears the home idol leader of the world championship ranking Ai Ogurafourth in the standings and who once again appears to have a clear advantage over his pursuer Sergio Garcia. Even though these were exclusively pre-qualifying sessions, the Spaniard still finished in 17th positionconfirming the difficulties that are taking him further and further away from any possible comeback for the title fight.
Among the top fourteen drivers, provisionally qualified for Q2, also appear Celestino Vietti and Tony Arbolino, 10th and 12th respectively. Dennis Foggia is further away, 19th and ahead of Darryn Binber.
