“Avatar 2”directed by James Cameron, returns to show Pandora and the Na’vi in their battle against humans, which continues 13 years after the first installment. The movie “The path of water” it has shown new characters in its cast and many of them have captivated the viewers with their audacity, especially the women.
But it is no coincidence, since the famous filmmaker has spun the plot of this sequel to promote greater female empowerment in its history.
“Avatar 2” does empower women, according to Cameron
James Cameron he shares a lot of ideas from his colleagues regarding Marvel and DC movies. In fact, he recently made fun of the visual effects they did for Thanos in the MCU and compared them to the final product they achieved in “Avatar” from the first delivery.
Now, the differences have gone one step higher: in issues of empowerment of women. This was evidenced in a recent dialogue with Variety.
“Everyone is always talking about female empowerment. But what is such an important part of a woman’s life that we as men don’t experience? Y I thought, ‘Well, if you’re really going to go to the bottom of the female empowerment rabbit hole, let’s have a six-month-pregnant warrior in battle.’”the filmmaker began.
“Pregnant women are more capable of being much more athletic than we as a culture recognize. I thought, ‘Let’s remove the actual limits.’ For me, it was the last bastion that is not seen. Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel, all these other amazing women, they show up, but they’re not mothers and they’re not pregnant as they fight evil.”he added.
What is “Avatar 2” about?
This indicates the official synopsis: “Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, ‘Avatar: The Shape of Water’ begins to tell the story of the Sully family, the problems that haunt them, the efforts they make to stay safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure.”
