In the film, Chan plays a martial artist named Lao Luo, who still has a deep bond with his stunt horse, Chitu. When she runs into money problems and her debtors threaten to take her partner away, Lao Luo will embark on a journey across the country to ask her daughter (Liu Haocun) and her boyfriend (Guo Qilin) for help. According to Variety, the film will be a moving comedy about a man’s love for his horse and the development of friendship between a human and an animal.
The filming of Ride on began in September and its filming culminated last Thursday, November 11. According to the report of the specialized media, the production celebrated the end of filming in a big party, which included a gift for the co-star horse.
Regarding its release date, Alibaba Pictures has not announced an official date, but Variety shared that it plans to hit theaters in China in early 2022. Jackie Chan’s latest film, the action thriller Vanguard, is currently available on Hulu and Amazon Prime.
