On Thursday, March 3, Izvestia correspondent Denis Kulaga, together with a film crew, ended up on the main square of Novoaydar, which is now completely under the control of the forces of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR).
The journalist reports that civilians are under the protection of the police and can move around without fear. Residential buildings in Novoaydar were not damaged.
At the same time, the sounds of battle are heard in the city in the direction of Severodonetsk and Lysichansk.
According to Kulagi, the checkpoints in the area of Novoaidar are “strongly assembled.”
Earlier, on March 3, Izvestiya TV correspondent Semyon Yeremin spoke with the military of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) in Volnovakha. According to one of the military, the Aidar nationalist battalion, which also includes fighters from the Right Sector (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), is participating in the battles on the side of the enemy.
On February 24, Russia launched an operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. The Ukrainian authorities accused the Russian Federation of hitting the country’s military infrastructure, martial law was introduced throughout the country. Kyiv also severed diplomatic relations with Moscow and recalled its diplomats from the embassy.
