Today the singer suffered the tragic loss of her beloved Fausto Pinna, a partner with whom she shared a 37-year relationship. Fausto Pinnaoriginally from Sardinia and a well-known music producer, entered Iva Zanicchi’s life in the late 1980s, after the end of her first marriage. The bond between the two was also consolidated for reasons of professional collaboration, especially during the production of the album “Care Colleghe”, which bore Fausto’s signature.
As reported by ‘Today’, quoting Iva Zanicchi’s first words, the 84-year-old artist remained next to Fausto “until his last breath”. Already last April, the singer had announced to her fans that she had to suspend performances due to the worsening of her partner’s health conditions. To stay close to him, the singer would have done anything, even stopping her activity on the stages of Italy.
The pain of this loss does not allow Iva Zanicchi to express herself much. ‘Il Resto del Carlino’ reported only few words pronounced by her: “A very strong pain”. Regarding the disease, in the past Iva had revealed a detail about Fausto’s life that said something like “90 cigarettes a day, and the doctors had given him only two months to live”.
