Fear in Italy: bad weather puts the safety of the inhabitants of the peninsula at risk
Autumn hasn’t started off in the best way, as rains, floods and landslides they follow each other much more frequently than normal. Italy is now in check bad weather and, apparently, the situation is destined to get even worse in the coming days.
The various studies conducted by industry experts have talked about serious floods and hydrogeological disruptions which could arise following the bad weather of the last few days. To risk all this, not to mention displacement, at least 9 million Italianswho find themselves living in areas that are dangerous to say the least.
In fact, most of the people examined live in areas where the risk of flooding is much higher, not to mention those who could be involved in landslides linked to soil instability. A very serious problem that requires a immediate intervention so as not to get even worse.
Which regions are most at risk?
Although the situation is critical in many Italian areas, there are regions that appear to be more exposed to this danger. To risk more Liguria, Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Campaniawhere unfortunately the bad weather is not giving a hint of respite to the environment and its inhabitants.
Fortunately, there are also areas considered low risk, but it is still important not to underestimate the situation even where there is no obvious danger. In some cases, in fact, a disaster it can manifest itself within a few seconds without giving too many warnings in the previous days.
Precisely for this reason we urge maximum caution, hoping that this emergency is first resolved and then integrated with some preventive measures that limit the problem when it does not yet exist. According to calculations, almost 30 billion euros would be needed to make our environment safer and around 8,000 prevention works which could be completed in around 5 years.
