Italy at Euro 2024 30 pre-summoned players: Fagioli is there. Out Gatti and Locatelli from Juventus
Luciano Spalletti has announced the list of thirty players he will bring to training camp from 31 May in Coverciano ahead of Euro 2024. Some surprise names in the pre-summoned list (Beans, Ricci, El Shaarawy and Folorunsho) and the first call for the jewel of Bologna (in the sights of Juventus), Riccardo Calafiori (in 2022 he took part in the internships dedicated to footballers of national interest). The illustrious absentees? In addition to the suspended Sandro Tonali and the injured Zaniolo, the exclusions of stand out Ciro Immobile and the Juventus players Federico Gatti and Manuel Locatelli.
1055 days after the triumph at Wembley (on penalties against England with Roberto Mancini on the bench), the European adventure begins for the Italian national team, which on Friday 31 May will gather at the Federal Technical Center in Coverciano to begin preparation for Euro 2024.
Returning to the squad, second call-up for Raoul Bellanova (Turin) and Michael Folorunsho (Verona), already called up in March for the two friendlies in the United States against Venezuela and Ecuador. The Torino midfielder returns to the national team Samuele Ricci and Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, absent from November 2022 and November 2023 respectively.
Italy, the friendlies before Euro 2024
Italy will leave for Germany, where they will have to defend their title as European champions, on Monday 10 June. First, Spalletti’s national team will play two friendly tests: Tuesday 4 June against the Türkiye (9pm, ‘Renato Dall’Ara’ stadium in Bologna) and Sunday 9 June with the Bosnia and Herzegovina (8.45pm, ‘Carlo Castellani’ stadium in Empoli). In the aftermath of the match with the Bosnian national team, as mentioned, Italy will reach Germany, where in the Iserlohn headquarters they will undergo the last training sessions before the debut in the European Championship scheduled for Saturday 15 June in Dortmund with Albania .
