India’s Rohan Bopanna and his partner Canada’s Denis Shapovalov have entered the pre-quarterfinals of the Italian Open tennis tournament. The unseeded pair of Bopanna and Shapovalov defeated Chilean Cristian Garin and Argentina’s Guido Pella 6-4, 6-4 in consecutive sets in the first round match played on Wednesday.
Bopanna and Shapovalov will face top seeded pair Juan Sebastian Kabal and Robert Farah to make it to the quarterfinals. Bopanna and Shapovalov reached the quarterfinal of the last Grand Slam US Open of the year ended last week.
Djokovic ‘behaved well’ in first match after US Open
