Quintana Roo.- The Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office offered the latest details about the murder of a businessman in Playa del Carmenclarifying in the first place that it is a man of English origin, not Canadian.
The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo confirmed to EFE that the man murdered on Saturday, March 12, 2022, in Playa del Carmen, is English and had permanent residence in Mexico since 2013.
According to data provided by the attorney general of Quintana Roo, Óscar Montes de Oca, he is a man of English nationality with permanent residence in Mexico since 2013.

The businessman was assassinated in Playa del Carmen and during the attack he was her 14-year-old daughter was also injuredas announced by the Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office.
The Prosecutor’s Office reaffirmed that there is two subjects who are under arrest for their presumed participation in the case and at the time of their capture a firearm was found on them.
The murder, whose motive is still unknown, occurred on the Cancun Federal highway – Carmen beach at the intersection with Av. Xcalacoco, an area of intense traffic, since it connects Cancun with the Riviera Maya.
According to more data provided by the Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Officethe English businessman and his daughter were traveling aboard a red Audi car when they were intercepted by two subjects on a motorcycle.
The man presented several impacts to the body and lost his life at the scene. According to medical reports, the 14-year-old minor has minor injuries that are not life-threatening.
The two suspects were arrested by municipal police officers who were alerted to the murder and the characteristics of the murderers.
The agents identified them near the area of the attack and undertook a chase through several streets until they managed to stop them.
Also in Playa del Carmen this morning, in two different places, the remains of a person were found in black bags that were abandoned very close to the Municipal Retention Center.
It is presumed that the remains correspond to a human head that was abandoned inside a refrigerator in the New Creation neighborhood of Playa del Carmen.
The events reflect the wave of violence suffered by Quintana Roo, the main tourist state in Mexico, despite the creation in December of a “tourist security battalion”, made up of nearly 1,500 agents of the National Guard (GN).
Also in Playa del Carmen, two Canadians were killed in a shootout at the end of January, in an incident related to drug trafficking that prompted the US FBI and the Canadian Mounted Police to investigate.
A week after that shooting, Argentinean Federico Mazzoni, who was the manager of a popular establishment in Playa del Carmen, Mamita’s Beach Club, was shot to death.
While on February 20, two men died and one more was injured in a shooting at a luxury restaurant in Tulum, one of the most fashionable places in the Caribbean.
