Arianna Rapaccioni told of the beautiful gesture that Bologna made for her husband Sinisa Mihajlovic
When Sinisa Mihajlovic he discovered he was suffering from leukemia, he was the coach of Bologna. The negative results of his team had convinced the club to sack him and he, as told by his wife Arianna in an interview with Il Messaggero, was very upset. At the same time, however, the same company continued to pay the Serbian's salary subsequently. A gesture that the woman greatly appreciated.
In December 2022 the whole of Italy football said goodbye to the great Sinisa Mihajlovic, former Serbian footballer and coach, who surrendered after a few years of hard struggle against Leukemia which unfortunately affected him.
When he discovered he was ill, the Serbian was coach of Bologna. A team and a city to which he felt very attached, for which he tried to give everything until the end, as long as he could, even while he was fighting his fight against evil.
The team's not exciting results, however, at a certain point had led the managers to decide for the exemption of the coach. A decision which, as Arianna Rapaccioni explains today in a touching interview given to The messengerhad caused Sinisa a big one sorry.
The company, however, at the same time do not have never stopped making his closeness felt to Mihajlovic about what was happening to him. With continuous displays of affection, but also with something more concrete.
Bologna honored my husband's salary until the contract expired. An extraordinary gesture, which in a moment of confusion gave me some security. President Saputo, Bergamini, Fenucci, Marchetti, Di Vaio: no one has forgotten me, a special company and a special city.
On Bologna and on the squad of the city, Arianna said:
It had entered our hearts even before the illness. And during the journey of suffering she became a visceral love: the weeks in hospital, the suffering at the training camp. All shared with wonderful people.
