Ynet: Netanyahu may announce suspension of judicial reform due to protests
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may announce a suspension of judicial reform in connection with the protests, writes Ynet, citing unnamed government sources.
According to the publication, Netanyahu is currently holds consultations with their coalition partners in the Jerusalem office, most of whom advocate a suspension of judicial reform. However, according to Ynet, Justice Minister Yariv Levin, who is also the main ideologue of the reform, allegedly announced his possible resignation if the government takes this step.
Earlier, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennet called on Netanyahu to delay judicial reform amid rallies. He also suggested reconsidering the decision to fire the country’s defense minister, Yoav Galant, and start negotiations after Independence Day.
