Basic smartphones of the iPhone 16 series turned out to be in poor demand on the market. About this in my X said respected analyst Ming-Chi Ko.
Ko found that consumers around the world were not very interested in Apple’s launch smartphones, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models. The analyst described the demand for devices as “sluggish.” In his estimation, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus were a great success. For this reason, Apple has slightly reduced the order for the production of parts for devices.
At the same time, Ming-Chi Ko became aware of consistently high demand for the flagship iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. New top-end devices are selling at approximately the same level as last year’s models. Due to good demand, Apple even asked suppliers to continue producing smartphones on October 1, when China celebrates the Founding Day of the People’s Republic of China.
The specialist noted that he would be interested to see how demand changes after the launch of the Apple Intelligence neural network in the United States. Most likely, artificial intelligence (AI) features will be available on Apple smartphones at the end of October.
The analyst believes that by the end of the year Apple will release 88-89 million smartphones. For comparison, at the end of 2023 the company sold 90-91 million devices.
Earlier, journalists from MacWorld called on Apple to stop releasing new iPhones every year. In their opinion, the company does not have time to come up with and implement innovations and is doing the wrong thing.
