Within the framework of Dubai’s keenness to build an integrated governance system for government agencies that serves to improve institutional performance at the emirate level, the Financial Audit Authority has circulated the “Institutional Governance Guide for Government Entities in Dubai”, with the aim of unifying the concepts and principles of governance and achieving its objectives, the most important of which is contributing to the achievement of strategic objectives. For government agencies and developing their institutional performance, in addition to enhancing transparency, ensuring accountability, and protecting the rights of stakeholders.
The guide applies to government agencies, with the exception of those that have legislation approved by the competent authorities, and activities related to regular judicial, military, and civil work.
On this occasion, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Hareb, Director General of the Financial Audit Authority, stressed the importance of the Corporate Governance Guide for Government Entities, which serves as a comprehensive road map that explains the basic principles and standards for improving government performance in Dubai, as it focuses on enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency in the work of government agencies in the emirate. This leads to significantly improving their performance levels and achieving their desired goals.
Regarding the measures taken regarding the guide, His Excellency added: “The guide was discussed with both the General Secretariat of the Executive Council and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Committee for Legislation, and a group of introductory sessions on the guide were held with some government agencies.”
