In the tweet, the Israeli army says it will take a firm line against “terrorist attempts from Gaza”. The weapons depot that has been hit by Israeli bombings is said to develop and manufacture weapons. Hamas reports no injuries were reported in Israel’s attack.
The Israeli fire brigade has reported that the fire balloons released by Gaza have caused fires in four places. All fires were quickly extinguished.
The incendiary balloons that Hamas uses look like ‘regular’ colored balloons. They are filled with helium or hot air and tied to burning fuses, or Molotov cocktails. When the balloons land, they cause small fires, which could potentially cause major fires in a dry nature reserve.
In May this year, Israel and Hamas signed a ceasefire after the two sides attacked each other for 11 days. In total, 250 people were killed, most of them on the side of the Palestinians.
Two weeks ago, Gaza already released a number of incendiary balloons, to which Israel also responded with air strikes. You can see pictures of it below.
