An Israeli attack on Dahiye, a southern suburb of Lebanon’s capital Beirut, targeted Hashem Safieddine, the new leader of the Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah.
The information was provided by Israeli officials to journalists from the website Axios and the broadcaster CNN. Safieddine would be in a bunker in Dahiye, a Hezbollah stronghold. There is currently no confirmation whether the new leader of the terrorist group was hit.
Shortly before the bombing, Israel issued instructions for the local population to leave their homes.
Last weekend, Saudi broadcaster Al-Arabiya’s website reported that Hezbollah’s executive council chose Safieddine as the Lebanese terrorist group’s new secretary general, replacing his cousin, Hassan Nasrallah, who had been the organization’s leader since 1992 and was killed in an attack in Beirut last Friday (27).
