Israel will study the possibility of supplying weapons to Ukraine, taking into account national interests. This statement was made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with the French television channel LCI, he is quoted by TASS.
He recalled that the previous Israeli government under the leadership of Yair Lapid rejected the issue of supplying weapons to Kyiv. Netanyahu promised to re-examine it and respond in the most “adequate manner”.
“We are considering this issue in accordance with our national interests,” the politician said, adding that Israel continues to provide humanitarian assistance to Kyiv.
In October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lamented Israel’s refusal to help Kyiv with air defense. He rebuked the country, saying that in conversations about Ukraine’s partners helping it protect the sky, the words “Israel” and “Israeli” do not sound. Later, he refused Netanyahu in response to a request to support the Jewish state in the UN General Assembly, voting against the resolution on the occupation of Palestinian territories, as he was dissatisfied with Netanyahu’s position on the supply of weapons to Kyiv.
