The Israeli army issued warnings to residents of more than 25 villages and towns in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately at a time when Israel continues its ground incursion there after suffering the largest loss in one day during a year of clashes with Hezbollah.
Such warnings have become almost daily in recent days, with the continued displacement of residents to areas far from their villages and towns.
The Israeli army spokesman for the Arab media, Avichay Adraee, identified in a post on the “X” platform the villages included in the warning, which he said was “urgent.”
According to the Israeli army publication, “the villages and towns are: Al-Kharayib, Warzi, Zararia, Adloun, Ansariyeh, Deir Takla Farm, Al-Wasta Farm, Jamjam Farm, Qusayba, Jebshit, Nabatieh, Sinai Farm, and Dweir Al-Sharqiya.”
The circular also included “Kfar Rumman, Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa, Manzala, Habbush, Al-Homsiyeh, Baysariyeh, Al-Sakskiyah, Loubiyya, Kafr Tibnit, Arnoun, Zawtar Al-Sharqiya and Zawtar Al-Gharbiya.”
Adraei said: “You must evacuate your homes immediately and head north of the Awali River.”
He continued: “Evacuate your homes immediately. Be careful, you are prohibited from heading south. Any direction south may expose you to danger.”
The number of displaced persons registered in the shelter centers approved by the National Operations Room in Lebanon as of last Friday reached 86,600 displaced persons, while the number of shelter centers reached 644, including public schools, educational complexes, vocational institutes, agricultural centers, and others distributed in various governorates, according to the Risk Management Unit. Yesterday, the Lebanese Army announced that a soldier was killed and another wounded in an Israeli raid while he was carrying out an evacuation and rescue mission with the Lebanese Red Cross in the south of the country.
The army said, in a post on the “X” platform: “One soldier was killed and another was injured as a result of an attack by the Israeli army, while carrying out an evacuation and rescue mission with the participation of the Lebanese Red Cross in the town of Taybeh – Marjayoun.”
