The Israeli Army stated this Tuesday (7) that it took control of a military stronghold of the terrorist group Hamas in northern Gaza.
In a statement, the Defense Forces (IDF) reported that several weapons, missiles and “other intelligence equipment” used by terrorists to attack Israeli territory were found.
The operation involved military personnel acting by land and air. An Israeli fighter jet hit a cell containing more than 10 terrorists.
“Israel Defense Forces ground troops identified an anti-tank missile cell operating in the vicinity of the stronghold. In addition, the Israel Defense Forces Navy attacked strategic targets belonging to the terrorist organization Hamas with precise munitions, including posts containing technological resources,” the statement said.
The military also identified militiamen hiding in a building near a hospital in the region.
According to the IDF, Hamas members were preparing to launch an attack against Israeli troops operating there.
During Israel’s offensive, there were secondary explosions in the building, which indicated the existence of a weapons deposit in the property.
