Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett assured that his country has “evidence “of Iran’s involvement in a deadly attack off the coast of Oman against a tanker managed by a billionaire Eyal Ofer.
“I just heard that Iran cowardly tries to shirk its responsibility on this issue, they deny (any implication). But I can say with absolute certainty that Iran carried out this attack on the ship … There is evidence of it, “he said during a weekly meeting of his government.
“We hope that the international community will clearly explain to the Iranian regime that it is making a serious mistake. In any case, we know how to send a message to Iran in our own way,” Bennett added, without specifying further.
Iran on Sunday rejected the accusations made by Israel that he would be behind Thursday’s attack on the tanker, managed by the Israeli Eyal Ofer, claiming that they lack “foundation”.
Thursday, that tanker, the “Mercer Street” was the target of a drone attack in the sea of OmanAccording to the US Army, which has several ships deployed in the region.
The attack, which was not claimed, caused two deaths: a British, an employee of the Ambrey security company, and a Romanian crew member, according to the ship’s operator, Zodiac Maritime, an international company based in London and belonging to Eyal Ofer.
“The Iranians, who attacked the ship ‘Mercer Street’ with a drone, intended to attack an Israeli target, but their act of piracy cost the lives of a British citizen and another Romanian,” added Bennett, defender of a line it lasts against Iran, Israel’s arch enemy.
