Israel is expected to open to Russian tourists on December 1. Until that time, the country is going to recognize the Sputnik V vaccine, said in an interview. Izvestia Minister of Tourism of Israel Yoel Razvozov.
The minister also called the conditions: only those who received the second dose of Sputnik V no more than six months ago will be able to enter Israel. This is due to the fact that the Israeli authorities observed how the antibodies had already begun to decline in citizens who had previously been vaccinated with two doses of the vaccine, as a result of which the fourth wave of the pandemic began in Israel.
“Since on December 1 we already want to allow the entry of your tourists, I certainly hope that at least five days before that – November 24-25 – we will already have a clear plan,” said Razvozov.
According to him, the Israeli authorities already have experience, when everything seemed to have been worked out until November 15, but at the last moment legal and technical problems were discovered. “We urgently flew here at the request of the Prime Minister in order to develop a comfortable mechanism for the entry of tourists from Russia to Israel,” the politician explained.
Earlier, the Israeli Ministry of Health approved the procedure for the entry into the country of foreign tourists vaccinated with Sputnik V. Vaccinations must be delivered no earlier than 14 days before the start of the trip and no later than six months at the time of its completion. In addition, a visit to Israel is allowed for citizens who received the first dose of Sputnik V no earlier than two weeks before the start of the trip.
