The tension grows in Lebanon in the middle of a high fire already precarious. This Saturday, an Israeli army spokesman had reported that the air were intercepted three rockets fired from Lebanon to Israel, in what would be the first three -month attack from Lebanon. Later, the Israeli prime minister, Benjamín Netanyahu, ordered with the Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, bombard the southern Lebanon in “Answer”, which has ended with dozens of injured in a new artillery exchange, the most intense from the high fire that they reached in November 2024, after months of dead by the war between the two countries.
“The rocket fire launched this morning (Saturday) to Galilea (north of Israel) constitutes a flagrant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and is a direct threat to the citizens of the state of Israel,” the army said in the statement.
The Armed Forces held the Lebanese state for the possible actions of Hizbulá (the group has not yet claimed the launch of rockets to Israel), as the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamín Netanyahu, and its Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, had already previously made. “In response to the rockets launched to Israel this morning, Prime Minister Benjamín Netanyahu and the Minister of Defense Israel Katz have instructed the Israel Defense Forces (FDI) to act strongly against dozens of terrorist objectives in Lebanon,” said a statement from the prime minister’s office previously.
For his part, the president of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, has ordered the launch of projectiles to Israel, considering that they would drag the Arab country to a “new cycle of violence”, and asked to investigate “what happened”.
No group has assumed the authorship of these new releases, which were followed by “Israeli gunner shots” and “large -scale tracking operations, with machine guns” to several towns in the south of Lebanon, according to the National Libanese news agency, NNA. The Lebanese state also reported Israeli air attacks against several southern villages, and the Ministry of Health reported the wound of at least two people in Kfar Kla “as consequences of the hostile actions of the Israeli enemy.”
A HIGH TENSE FIRE
Although the agreement between the two countries included the withdrawal of Israel’s troops, the Israeli Minister of Defense already announced last February that the troops were going to remain at five points close to the border in the damping zone of Lebanon.
“As of today, the army will remain in the cushioning zone in Lebanon by controlling five advanced positions and will continue to enforce – with strength and without concessions – any violation [del acuerdo] by Hizbulá, “Katz said in a statement.” Hizbulá must be completely withdrawn beyond the line [del río] Litani and the Lebanese army must make it fulfill and disassemble its presence under the supervision of the mechanism established under US leadership, ”he said.
The decision was considered as an “occupation” by the Lebanese government, and the leader of the Shiite Militia Hizbulá, Naim Qassem, then threatened to retaliate if Israel did not fulfill its share of the stop the fire and retired before the established term, which already expired. Now, these new attacks add up to the already fragile high fire.
