Israel attacks a dozen financial headquarters linked to Hezbollah in Beirut, according to Lebanese media

The Lebanese media reported this Sunday more than ten attacks against the financial headquarters of Al Qard Al Hassan, an entity belonging to the Shiite Hezbollah militia, in the south of Beirut, with the aim of weakening its economic system, as Israel had previously announced. .

According to the Lebanese newspaper L’Oriente Le Jour, the Israeli Army managed to hit “the target of the Al Qard Al Hassan agency, located on the first floor of a building in Ali el-Nahri, in Becca.” Likewise, at least 11 attacks against bank headquarters in al-Barakat, near Beirut International Airport (AIB), in the Lebanese capital, are reported; in the district of Nabatiyeh, in southern Lebanon, and in the regions “of Nabatiyé and Aaqibiyé, between Saida and Tyre”, in addition to other areas, according to reports from the Lebanese media.

Israel: “We are going to attack the economic power of Hezbollah”

“Residents of Lebanon, our troops will soon attack infrastructure belonging to Al Qard Al Hassan, stay away from it immediately,” the Arabic spokesman for the Israeli Army, Avichay Adraee, had written in a message on his X account.

These evacuation alerts affect residents of the Lebanese capital and other areas of the country where there are “sites that Hezbollah uses to finance its terrorist activity,” Israeli Army spokesman Daniel Hagari warned at a press conference.

“We are going to attack the economic power of Hezbollah,” Hagari asserted, adding that “the objective is to damage the trust of agents in the organization.”

“Hezbollah has different sources of financing, but the most important are through the companies it has created such as Al Qard al Hassan. We know that with this type of bank, disconnected from the international SWIFT system, it pays salaries within its organization and is used by many Lebanese civilians,” explained a senior Israeli intelligence official.

This same senior Israeli intelligence official assured that every month Iran transfers money to the Lebanese group and that they also have evidence that diplomats related to the militia enter the country with money in their suitcases.

In a year of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, more than 2,400 people have been killed in Lebanese territory alone – most of them in the last month – and more than 1.2 million have been forced to leave their homes to flee the violence. , which has caused a humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean country.
