Makkabi is the Jewish sports association in Germany and has its largest local club in Frankfurt. At a time when attacks on Jewish life are increasing, the coach and the club are trying to keep the sport fun and take action against anti-Semitism.

Samim Gabriel Nasim, a dark-haired curly-haired man, is a playmaker in central midfield. Nasim runs quickly across the floodlit artificial turf. He only has one contact left. The A-youth team from Makkabi Frankfurt trains on the playing field of the sports park in the Preungesheim district. With around 4,000 members, the Frankfurt association is the largest of Makkabi Germany, the umbrella organization in which 27 local associations with a total of almost 7,000 members are organized nationwide.
