In an editorial in the weekly magazine Al Naba, distributed by Islamic State (IS)the jihadist organization classified the invasion of Ukraine through the Russia as a “divine punishment” to the West for its “infidelity” and for its “support” and participation in wars in Muslim-majority countries.
IS said it predicted the conflict “will have significant consequences that will change many of the laws of peace and war between these” Western countries and “spread to other capitals” in Europe.
The Islamic State celebrated that this is the first bloody direct confrontation on Christian soil since the Second World War. “They established organizations to prevent wars from taking place on their land and instead exported them and made them happen only in Muslim countries.”
Finally, the editorial criticized Chechnya leader Ramzan Kadyrov’s support for Russia, as well as European volunteers helping Ukraine against Russian invasion.
