According to the deputy mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, “it is a 2,190-meter plot that, until now, had agricultural use, but ceased to be active at the end of the 90s.”
The Cartagena City Council, through the Local Government Board, has approved the exceptional authorization of use for the installation of a
Motorhome parking in the area of Las Cuevas, located in the town of Isla Plana.
As explained by the deputy mayor and councilor for the Urban Planning area, Ana Belén Castejón, “this is a
2,190 meter plot which, until now, had agricultural use, but ceased to be active at the end of the 90s. Due to this, the local government has considered that the use can now be changed and, given that it is in an area of high demand for nature tourism, the project has been given the green light ”.
Specifically, this new car park will have
Enough space to house 14 motorhomes measuring 3.5 by 11 meters and 13 of 2.5 by 7.5 meters. In addition, it will have a green area, its own waste management and supply for electricity self-consumption. As is mandatory with all exceptional uses, “the City Council has approved the public interest and, subsequently, it is sent to the Community to give the final approval to the project,” said the deputy mayor.
This new installation comes to alleviate the need that has been arising for a long time in the area and the location of this project complies with all the guarantees of safety and protection of the natural environment that are required.
