The wait is coming to an end, this Thursday the 48th edition of the America Cup until the July 14. The most prestigious tournament on the continent will begin with the presentation of Argentina seeking to revalidate its title against Canada at the Mercedes Benz stadium in Atalanta.

In 2019 it came to the Copa América for the first time after CONMEBOL approved the tool of the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) and was also part of the 2021 edition.
Yeah, the technological system of video assistance to the referee will be present again in this tournament for the third time since its arrival in football and in this competition in particular. The tool will be available to implement when the meeting authorities want or consider it necessary to use this option and, of course, it will be in all stadiums throughout the competition.

The VAR allows referees to review incidents that at first glance are not so clear or those cases where the main authority did not spot something that was crucial to collect such as possible offsides, goals, penalties, red cards. Thanks to this tool and the enormous technology that is deployed in these competitions, the cameras will be able to show replays from different angles to minimize the margin of error.
