Last week the series based on the games of falloutwhich has surprisingly turned out to be of good quality, which has led it to compete side by side with other similar products such as the The Last of Us which has already confirmed its second season. Of course, many of the characters are totally new to the show, and that makes users think that perhaps it is not within the same universe of the games, and fortunately there is already an answer to this mystery.
Recently the video game medium known as IGNhas done an interview with two great people responsible for the series, the producer, Jonathan Nolan, and Bethesda's Todd Howard, who have given some interesting answers regarding the process of creating it. And that's where they talked about the canon, confirming that it is indeed positioned in the same universe, specifically what happened was shortly after the events of Fallout New Vegas.
Here what is mentioned by Howard:
E: Was there any pushback when it came to making a show that was extremely loyal to the tradition of game art design?
Howard: I mean, there were a lot of conversations. Things come up. Look, every time we make a game, we also want to move the story forward. We are looking at things and how do we add up? And the show does that too, since they had story elements they wanted to do. It's like, oh, that's really interesting. Let's find a way to make that work…
So Graham and Geneva wanted to blow up Shady Sands. The first time they mention that, you say: ” That you want to do?” I actually had an emotional reaction given the history of that location in the Fallout 1 franchise. We talked about it and it was, “This is going to be a pretty impactful moment in history that will anchor a lot of things.” And in order for people to hear it, we are careful with the timeline. There may be a little confusion in places, but everything that happened in the previous games, including New Vegas, happened. We are very careful with that.
E: The Fall of Shady Sands” occurs in 2277, which is four years before New Vegas. So people just don't understand what “The Fall of Shady Sands” means or something?
Howard : All I can say is that we're tightening it up, but the bomb drops right after the events of New Vegas. That's when Shady Sands explodes.
E: So basically, “The Fall of Shady Sands,” doesn't necessarily mean a nuclear bomb?
Howard : Correct.
Remember that the eight chapters of the series fallout are now available in Prime Video.

Author's note: With this it is clear that now the series is already on the timeline, but at least they knew how to place the program intelligently so that there are no inconsistencies as always happens with the MCU.
