The Comptroller General of the Autonomous University of Mexico City (UACM) received a complaint for alleged irregularities in a contract for more than 13 million of weights to make structural opinions of eleven campuses and buildings of the institution.
The accusation indicates that the 13 million 113 thousand pesos in total exceed the maximum established for the direct allocation of said activities.
And it is that according to the amounts of action of the UACM For fiscal year 2021, direct award contracts cannot exceed 371 thousand pesos, but the University justified its action in a natural phenomenon: the 2017 earthquakeexception provided for in university regulations.

UACM reviews damage from 19S, after several years…
The complaint alludes that the rulings are not complied with because said facilities operated for at least four years after the 19S without the need for them, so the contract should have been tendered and not delivered directly to the Mexican Association of Directors Responsible for Works and Corresponsables AC (Amdroc).
The complainant detailed in the document that the regulations allow the days of a tender to be reduced to 17 days, an option that the Works Department could resort to, or make a restricted invitation to at least three suppliers but did not do so.
This fact could open the way for acts of corruption that have been a constant in the UACM, assured who filed the complaint with the Comptroller General of the Autonomous University of Mexico City.
However, the direct award is not the only alleged irregularity within the contract for more than 13 million pesos, but rather the company started working before the contract was formally awarded.
