“We exchanged the ideas we proposed, both in terms of substance and form, to pave the way for a quick end to the Vienna negotiations,” Kenny added, on his Twitter account.
He went on to say, “We as Iran are ready to conclude negotiations in a short time if the other side is ready to do the same.”
Borrell said on Tuesday he had proposed a new draft text to revive the deal under which Iran curbed its nuclear program in return for relief from economic sanctions.
In 2018, former US President Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement and re-imposed US sanctions on Tehran, prompting it to violate the nuclear restrictions stipulated in the agreement.
The agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, was aimed at making it difficult to obtain fissile material for a nuclear bomb for Iran, which has long denied this ambition, saying its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
On Tuesday, the US State Department said it was reviewing Borrell’s proposal and would respond to the European Union.
