The Business Coordinating Council (CCE) seeks to guarantee that the new Exhipódromo hospital, run by the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), operates in accordance with what the Federation promised.
Sergio Colín, president of the CCE and Index-Juárez, highlighted that they will verify that the property is well equipped and has sufficient personnel, so they will meet with authorities soon.
He noted that the meeting with IMSS directors is already scheduled in order to ensure that the work, which was announced as a flagship project of the federal government, is functional and has the details that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) promised to the border residents, who once inaugurated will be able to use the property on Vicente Guerrero Avenue.
“What we want to point out is that it contains everything that was promised, that all the specialties, both in its personnel and equipment, are available as soon as possible because what matters to us as CCE is that this benefit really is for the citizens,” said Colín, who had planned to open the hospital for the following month, but a change was reported.
The local head of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC), Fernando Suárez, announced that the inauguration scheduled for July 31 was postponed to the month of August. He added that the progress is 70 percent, that work is being done on the placement of equipment such as elevators but that delays are observed in exteriors and accesses, which is why the dates were modified.
According to Suárez, inside, work is being done on the placement of fire-fighting systems, storage tanks and electrical substations, which must include a testing period. The above, he added, without considering the installation of medical equipment, which is still pending, but he estimated that the work will be ready before the end of the current López Obrador administration.
