Investors who do not invest directly in mining companies or oil producers are often confronted with technical finesse that almost require professional knowledge. Nevertheless, many investors do not want to completely do without commodities as part of their portfolio.
One of the people who emphasizes this is Jaap Hoek from the Dutch investment company Robeco: “In terms of the relative potential for returns, the raw materials sector stands out positively,” says the portfolio strategist. Hoek is pretty sure that the earth’s treasures will outperform stocks and bonds in terms of price.
