Investigators of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation interrogated residents of the city of Krasny Luch in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), who came under fire from Ukrainian militants from the Tochka-U operational-tactical complex. Among the witnesses were a four-year-old girl and her mother, reports on July 2 “RIA News“.
Four-year-old Arina came to the interrogation with her mother and grandmother. The investigators recorded the testimonies of the adults in the protocol, including how frightened the girl was, how she shudders at every loud sound and cries. The house where the family lived was badly damaged while they live with friends.
“Everything was black. The balcony turned black, the refrigerator burned down, my pink bathtub burned down. And there was a round hole in the roof,” Arina told investigators.
Many residents of Krasny Luch complained of a strong fright, especially residents of the area where the rocket fell, investigators specified.
On June 16, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the LPR reported that the city of Krasny Luch was shelled by Ukrainian nationalists from the Tochka-U operational-tactical complex. Three local residents died, including two children born in 2005 and 2010. Bali damaged 58 residential buildings, infrastructure and social institutions.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. A few days earlier, the situation in the region escalated significantly due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics announced the evacuation of residents to the Russian Federation, and also turned to Moscow for help. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DNR and LNR.
