Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed the central office of the department to initiate a criminal case against officials of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in connection with the adoption of illegal decisions on the criminal prosecution of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and other officials. This was stated on August 26 in a message on website departments.
The Investigative Committee believes that the SBU made deliberately illegal decisions to bring charges in absentia against Kadyrov, Deputy Head of the Department of the Federal Service of National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic Daniil Martynov, commander of the tactical group 249 of the separate motorized battalion “South” of the 46th separate operational brigade of the North Caucasus District Russian National Guard Troops Hussein Mezhidov.
“It is obvious that the decisions of the SBU on the criminal prosecution of these officials who are citizens of the Russian Federation were taken on far-fetched grounds and are contrary to the law,” the Investigative Committee added.
As part of the criminal case, SBU officials who made illegal decisions against the Russians will be identified.
Earlier on Friday, the SBU filed suspicions against Kadyrov, Martynov and Mezhidov. In February-March of this year, the head of Chechnya “led the development and planning of individual military operations of units, gave orders, heard reports and reports from their leaders,” the secret service noted.
After that, Kadyrov called on Kyiv to name the place and time for his turnout. He expressed his intention to continue participating in the special operation to protect Donbass.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect the Donetsk People’s Republic and the LPR. It was preceded by an aggravation of the situation in the region, an appeal by the leadership of the Donbass republics to the Russian Federation with a request for help, and the subsequent recognition by Russia of the independence of the DPR and LPR.
Kyiv has been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état in Ukraine, since 2014.
