The Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) clarified criticism of the hospitalized employee Vladislav Megrelov after an online meeting with the head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin. This is reported on website SK.
According to the agency, the 26-year-old investigator ignored the conclusions of the examination when working on one of the cases in his production. Megrelov worked on the case of the death of a man and the poisoning of his child with carbon monoxide in a country house in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region in October 2020. The case was transferred to the central office of the Investigative Committee, which found out that on July 1, the results of an examination were obtained, which ruled out the version of poisoning due to a faulty chimney.
“For a long time Megrelov continued to regard the incident solely as an accident, ignoring the conclusions of the examination and not giving them an assessment,” the Investigative Committee said. The head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to conduct a procedural check.
The online meeting took place on October 13th. There Bastrykin heard the case of gas poisoning of a resident of the Leningrad Region in 2020. The mother of the deceased claims that her son was killed by a former daughter-in-law, and the results of the examinations indicate an accident. The head of the ICR was dissatisfied with the work of Megrelov, who is in charge of this case, and urged him to be fired because of his incompetence.
According to 47news, immediately after the working meeting, Megrelova was taken away by an ambulance. The ICR said that the investigator was hospitalized due to ARVI.
