Interim reports | Elisa’s turnover grew more than expected

Turnover and operating profit grew the most in corporate business.

Finland the business of the largest telecom operator Elisa steadily improved in April–June.

Turnover increased by eight percent from the same time last year to 522 million euros, and operating profit excluding non-recurring items also increased by eight percent to 113 million euros.

“All our businesses made a stable result despite the geopolitical challenges and increasing uncertainty,” says the CEO Brother-Matti Mattila in the interim report.

Analysts compared to prior expectations, Elisa’s turnover was higher than expected. Out of the business groups, turnover and operating profit grew the most in corporate business and, according to the company, it was based especially on the growth of mobile communication services and digital services, as well as equipment sales.

According to the company, the war started by Russia in Ukraine has increased uncertainty, which can be reflected in, for example, inflation and the price of energy. In addition, problems in global supply chains can create uncertainty.

About threat photos despite this, Elisa estimates that this year’s turnover will be the same or slightly higher than last year. The company of mobile communication services and digital services believes that the turnover will increase.

Elisa predicts that the comparable EBITDA, which measures profitability, will also be the same or slightly higher than last year.
