Intel announced Thunderbolt Share, a feature that revolutionizes PC-to-PC connectivity and facilitates productivity.
Connecting two PCs and using them simultaneously with a single screen is an operation that can be done for some time, but with some difficulties in the configuration phase that does not make it accessible to everyone.
Intel then presented Thunderbolt Share, a new technology that allows you to use two PCs in a single solution, sharing keyboard, mouse, screen, as well as all files and storage memory. Here are all the details.
Two PCs, one screen
Thanks to Intel’s Thunderbolt Share, connecting two PCs becomes a simpler and more direct operation: it will in fact be sufficient to connect two devices equipped with Thunderbolt 4 or 5 ports with a cable that supports these particular standards.
The Thunderbolt network will allow you to share “multi-PC” workflows thanks to the bandwidth and low latency guaranteed by Intel technology: sharing the screen, mouse and keyboard in a responsive manner will therefore be within everyone’s reach.
Among the most significant advantages, Thunderbolt Share will allow you to quickly transfer files with a simple drag and dropeven in the presence of large content, without affecting the performance of the Wi-Fi, Ethernet or Cloud network: Thunderbolt 5 will provide a bandwidth of 120 Gbps mono-directional and 80 Gbps bi-directional, as well as screen mirroring up to 1080p and 60 Hz.
When he’ll come?
Thunderbolt Share will be available on Windows PCs and select accessories starting from the second half of 2024. Among the first partners who will be able to offer the new Intel technology are companies such as Lenovo, Acer, MSI, Razer, Kensington, Belkin, Promise, Plugable and many others will arrive over time. The preview version of Thunderbolt Share is already available on Intel’s official website.
