Intaj indicated that the “Jordanian Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship” event is a 5-day event from February 21 to 25, beginning with a forum to be held on the 21st, followed by an exhibition that will take place over 4 days, inside the Jordanian pavilion at Expo 2020.
The event aims to promote Jordan as a digital and innovative technology center in the region, and to allow Jordanian companies to communicate with major international companies and investment funds, and to try to create opportunities for growth and expansion.
According to the Jordanian newspaper, “Al-Rai”, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Eid Amjad Al-Sweis, confirmed that the event aims to promote the information technology sector and leadership in Jordan, noting that the forum will include on the first day a variety of discussion sessions highlighting the development of the sector and Jordanian experiences. .
Al-Sweis added that the sessions focus on the competitive environment in Jordan, which makes it a suitable environment for foreign investments in the information technology sector.
He pointed out that “many CEOs, founders of IT companies and startups, clients, and public figures from the public and academic sectors will be hosted and invited, as the number of attendance is expected to reach more than 400 people.”
According to Al Sweis, the event will represent a “distinguished opportunity for Jordanian companies to present their services and products to the visitors of the Jordanian pavilion at Expo 2020 from international companies, businessmen and investment funds, who were invited to attend.”
In turn, the Commissioner-General of the Jordanian Pavilion at the Expo Dubai and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, Zaher Al-Qatarneh, stressed the government’s and the Ministry of Investment’s support for pioneering and creative projects, especially among the youth, and to empower entrepreneurs by highlighting their expertise and superiority in the field of technology and innovation.
On Jordan’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, Al-Qatarneh stressed the presentation of “a new and innovative vision that spreads positive messages for the future, through an interactive sensory experience, dealing with topics on community empowerment, supporting the economy, reviewing the ancient Jordanian history and enriching culture.”
Al-Qatarneh also drew attention to the selection of Jordanian innovators who provide solutions to societal challenges, as part of the impactful innovation grant program within the “Expo Live” program, which supports solutions with a social impact worldwide.
For his part, Bashar Al-Kilani, Vice Chairman of the Jordanian Business Council in Dubai, said that this event “will be a suitable platform and opportunity for Jordan to show Jordan’s success stories,” adding that “Expo in Dubai is a great promotional opportunity for economic potential.”
