The Egyptian ambassador in Kiev, Ayman El-Gamal, said that “in coordination between the Egyptian embassy in Kiev and the Egyptian embassies in neighboring countries Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania, as well as with the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, instructions were issued to the Ukrainian border guards to facilitate the crossing of the Egyptians.”
The Egyptian Embassy circulated new instructions to the Egyptians in Ukraine, stating that: “It is possible to cross easily to Romania by reaching the city of Izmail, Odessa Oblast and catching the ferry at the border crossing between Romania and Ukraine to transport the displaced to the Romanian border.
She added that it is best to go from there on foot, because the cars ahead have a waiting line, and only 50 cars are allowed to cross.
The embassy’s instructions included that: “The ferry takes about 10 minutes, then wait for the processing to take place on the Romanian side to verify passports and obtain an entry stamp.”
Once in Romania, there is a group of Romanian volunteers who are ready to help with food, Sim cards, transportation to Bucharest, warm clothes, accommodation, and anything you need, please wear warm clothes and carry food for precaution.
It should be noted that there have been many complaints about the “intransigence” of the Ukrainian border guards in dealing with the crossing of Egyptians to neighboring countries.
This comes as sources told “Sky News Arabia” that there is a government meeting in Cairo, on Sunday, to discuss the file of returning Egyptians from Ukraine.
