Last Wednesday (14), the Chamber of Deputies approved Bill 385/21, of the Federal Senate, which suspends until December 31, 2021, the proof of life of beneficiaries before the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).
The proof of life is carried out annually at the banks where the insured receives the benefit. Due to the pandemic, the measure was suspended and had been resumed in June.

For the rapporteur, Deputy Danilo Cabral (PSB-PE), in a note released by the Agência Câmara, “there is no justification for preventing possible fraud to be above the preservation of the lives of millions at such a serious time of health crisis. of Brazilians with the risk of cutting the benefit”.
Another highlight of PL 385/21 foresees the preferential use of biometrics for the realization of the proof of life by the beneficiaries, which must be done in the month of their birthday, even if by attorneys.
Due to changes in the text, the proposal will be sent back to the Senate.
