Insomnia | A traditional double bed can be a health risk for the snoring spouse – “The time spent asleep is not decisive in terms of the relationship”

Sleeping together is not a prerequisite for a good relationship, says a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of insomnia. Greater affection can be shown by someone who prefers to sleep in a different bed than to disturb another’s sleep.

The story is part of the Minä väittan series, in which one expert shares his views on an interesting topic related to his own field.

Psychotherapist and specialist researcher at the Institute of Occupational Health Heli Järnefelt:

“Many recognize a situation where the sleeping partner snores so much that falling asleep is impossible. And when you manage to fall asleep, you wake up immediately when your partner makes noises or turns in their sleep.
