investigation announced

Was NFL quarterback Tagovailoa allowed to continue playing with concussion?
Miami The fact that NFL team Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned to the game Sunday against the Buffalo Bills after a suspected head injury is controversial. The players’ union has announced an investigation.
Head injuries are a sensitive topic in American football. The US professional league NFL closed this for a long time, but in the meantime it has done something to prevent the risk of long-term damage to the brain: rule changes for less severe collisions in certain game situations, additional head protection on the helmet during training and, above all, the “Concussion Protocol “. Concussion stands for concussion and as soon as a player shows signs of concussion, he is evaluated by neutral doctors who are not part of his own team. Only when they release him again, he may train uand play. This can happen quickly during a game, but sometimes it can take days or weeks.
Tua Tagovailoa went quite quickly on Sunday. The Miami Dolphins quarterback was knocked over by an opponent after a play in the game against the Buffalo Bills and hit the back of his head hard on the turf. Bills linebacker Matt Milano received a penalty for this. When Tagovailoa got up, his legs didn’t support him properly. The 24-year-old stumbled into the arms of his team-mates who caught him and was eventually carried into the dressing room. Substitute Teddy Bridgewater brought the game into half-time before Tagovailoa was back – surprising many given the pictures.
Above all, the statements contradict each other as to which injury the playmaker suffered. The Dolphins themselves tweeted after the injury: “Tua Tagovailoa has a head injury, his return is in doubt.” After the game, however, it sounded different: head coach Mike McDaniel spoke of a back injury that Tagovailoa sustained earlier in the game and that was the result Milano’s foul had been exacerbated. The quarterback said the same thing: “My back kind of closed. But for the most part I’m fine.”
NFL reporter Ian Rapoport also reported a back injury and that Tagovailoa was checked for a concussion in the dressing room but passed all those tests and returned to the field. But the last word has not yet been spoken: According to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, the NFLPA players’ union will launch an investigation into how Tagovailoa and a possible concussion are dealt with.
