The assembly hall of the European Center for Business and Innovation of Murcia hosted the final of # Innoteca2021. In addition to the winning team, there was special mention as a finalist for the students of the IES Juan Carlos I in the Professional Training Category, which, like the IES Floridablanca, is located within the municipality of Murcia.
The 2nd year high school students from IES Floridablanca, Celia Palazón Saorín and Niurka Cecilia Justiniano Gutiérrez, prevailed against the other four finalist teams in their category and obtained the award for their ‘One-Leash’ project, which consists of a system that It can revolutionize the way you walk your pet.
The winners obtained as a prize the writing, presentation and management of the invention in the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, an action that is valued at 1,700 euros.
The awards are organized by the Innoteca by Ipitec y Ceeim, attached to the Development Institute, whose director, Joaquín Gómez, claimed the exemplary and precursor figures of Juan de la Cierva and Isaac Peral as genuine representatives of the technological inventiveness of the Region of Murcia .
«The example of these two great Murcian inventors, in a time with much less resources, makes us see that innovation is not only born in R & D & I departments of large companies, but is also available to anyone with ingenuity and that it is used to improve objects in our environment ”, stated Gómez, who participated in the event, together with Almudena Abellán, CEO of Ipitec.
The contest is part of the UPAi 2021 Project, which is financed with Feder Funds of the European Union, through the aid of the Institute for the Promotion of Strategy C (i * EMP) focused on promoting and supporting entrepreneurship in the Region of Murcia
The second edition of #Innoteca registered a participation of 115 students from 12 schools and the presentation of 46 projects, in addition to the involvement of 17 teachers.
The ideas submitted to competitions were proposals aimed at innovating in everyday life, with inventive initiatives committed to sustainability and the management of solar and water resources, with inclusive technologies and support for the elderly, among others.
