Confirmation has arrived that Injustice will be present at DC FanDome, the event dedicated specifically to the universe of DC Comics, in the form of an animated film, which will premiere on October 16 shortly before the official release, but this obviously also suggests news regarding the videogame series, perhaps with the announcement of Injustice 3.
The animated film will be released on October 19 for home video and it is a story inspired by the videogame series, or Injustice: God Among Us and Injustice 2, staging a reworking of the events narrated in the two video games, which see a general cross-over between the various DC super-heroes Comics within an apocalyptic story.
The animated film, says Warner Bros., stages an alternate, crazed world, where the Joker pushed Superman to kill Lois Lane, thus pushing the superhero par excellence into a spiral of madness until he convinced himself that he had to dominate the world and control the destiny of humanity.
This leads Batman, of course, trying to stop Superman’s plan, putting together a team of superheroes to throw against the one built by the rival, staging an epochal battle between being superior for the fate of the world. More or less is what is narrated in the two video games, but obviously it will be much more elaborate from the narrative point of view.
However, what interests us most, here, is the idea that the launch of the film could correspond to news on the videogame series: we know that Ed Boon will be present at the DC FanDome and this feeds the rumors about the announcement of a possible Injustice 3 which, at this point, would be quite legitimate in terms of timing. We therefore await possible news for this week.
