A source in the Emergency Situations Directorate in Yakutia, eastern Russia, said today, Thursday, that the Mi-8 helicopter made a hard landing, resulting in injuries.
The RT Arabiya website quoted the source as saying that the helicopter was carrying 20 passengers and a crew of three.
The Ministry of Regional Health stated that 17 injured people were transferred to a hospital, and that the condition of two of them is very serious, and the rest are in serious and moderate condition.
The helicopter took off on Wednesday evening from the Ust Maisky region to the Aldansky region in the Republic of Yakutia. It made an emergency landing in a forest near Chagda village. An investigation is underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
