Inflation is ‘burned’ in the US and tied the hands to the Fed: the IPC rises a spectacular 0.5% in January and returns to 3% year -on -year

Inflation directly caught fire in the US last January. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) shot 0.5% intermensual last month, leading to year -on -year reading, the one that is observed most, 3% seven months later after scoring 2.9% in December . The underlying IPC (in this case excludes energy and food, volatile items), a more sticky metric in recent times and more monitored by the authorities, has also advanced a strong intermensual 0.4%, reputing the interannual metric two tenths to the 3.3%.
